Business Advice: ICAEW Promotes SME Business Advice Service

With Welsh business looking to save money and cut back on costs it is nice to know that there is business advice available for free!

One of sources recently informed us that the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has launched a new scheme offering a free consultation.

One of the major concerns whenever we are in tough economies is small local businesses seeking advice from places other than professionals due to costs. This new initiative will allow small businesses in Cardiff and Wales to seek free professional advice from local accountants in Cardiff and the surrounding area.

Business Advice: Free ICAEW Service For Welsh Businesses

Business Advice Free Business AdviceThe Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) has introduced a Business Advice Service that enables small businesses to receive a free initial consultation from an ICAEW Chartered Accountant.

Under the scheme SME owners can contact ICAEW practices in their area on a variety of issues, both large and small, and there is no future obligation. More than 2,000 ICAEW firms have already signed up to offer free consultations.

The scheme aims to encourage SMEs and start-ups to seek support from an ICAEW Chartered Accountant rather than resorting to unqualified alternatives.

Explaining the scheme, Clive Parritt, ICAEW president, said:

“Start-ups or growing small businesses need the best advice to succeed at a time of fragile recovery and limits on public spending. There is a clear need for expert business advice which helps SMEs and start-up businesses become engines of growth.

“The Business Advice Service will offer SMEs the opportunity to discuss their business with a qualified chartered accountant through a free initial consultation.

“ICAEW Chartered Accountants will be able to offer expert advice on a whole range of issues facing them – from starting a business to turnaround, restructuring, financial management or taxation issues.”

Business Advice: Building Relationships

It is good to see good business practices being developed by institutions such as the ICAEW and it’s also good business as in the medium to long term many of these free meetings are sure to develop into profitable business relationships for both parties.

Free business advice is always welcome but it is better valued when delivered by a professional institution. Having many years experience dealing with small businesses in Cardiff and across South Wales they are ideally placed to offer sound advice for those seeking a professional opinion.
